What We Believe
The Bible
The Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired, infallible Word
of God. (2 Timothy 3:15-17)
God
The One True God has revealed Himself as eternally existent. (Psalm 90:2) The
Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Eternal Son of God. He was born of
a virgin. (Matthew 1:23) His life was sinless. (Hebrews 7:26) He performed miracles.
(Acts 2:22) His death on the Cross was substitutionary. (1 Corinthians 15:3)
He was raised from the dead. (Matthew 28:6) He is exalted to the right hand of
God. (Acts 1:9,11)
Salvation
Man was created good and upright but by voluntary transgression, fell. As
a result there is spiritual and physical death – separation from God.
(Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 5:12) Salvation of man is by grace through the shed
blood of Jesus Christ
on the cross and is appropriated by faith which is a gift from God. (Ephesians
2:8) Sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil and of
dedication unto God. (Romans 12:1-2)
Rites
Baptism in water by immersion is a command. (Romans 6:4; Matthew 28:19-20) The
Lord's Supper, consisting of the elements, the bread and the fruit of the vine,
is a memorial of His suffering. (1 Corinthians 11:26)
